Yolanda Smith

My name is Yolanda and I want to share my story of how your donation helped not just myself but my girls Crystal (12) and Jasmine (08). I lost my job unfairly and fought it in court, but I lost. I could no longer support my kids. I had no money to buy even the most basic things. Bills piled up and my lights where about to be cut off. When the MicroGrants money came through, some went to getting the lights turned back on, some for much needed basics for my family like hygiene products & household supplies. The balance of the grant money went to (finally) buying a interview out fit for myself, 2 pairs of shoes for my girls and we enjoyed a dinner out together to forget about what we’d been were going through. They have been so strong through all this and the smiles on their faces and joy in their eyes made me fill like less of a failure and more like a hero. All the words in the world could never tell you what a blessing MicroGrants is to those of us who want to be independent. Soon after this, I found a job in my new interview outfit and I still have the job today. Thanks to MicroGrants, I got working again and can take care of my family. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. And thanks for helping people and continuing to be someone’s miracle and a family’s light in the darkness.
