Nakara came to MicroGrants through Project Diva. She created a program called Deep End Challenge. The self-discovery program is meant to cultivate wholeness in Black women and girls in North Minneapolis by equipping them with the tools to swim mentally, emotionally, and physically. She used her grant to purchase promotional items, towels, swimsuits, and swim caps for the program participants.
“I’m super grateful to everyone who donated to MicroGrants and made these resources possible for people like me who are getting small businesses and opportunities for the community off the ground,” says Nakara.
