Danielle Goodrum, opened her restaurant, Fresco Pasta and Bar in Midtown Global Market in 2012. Like any new business owner she encountered special challenges along the way. Without a hood in her kitchen space, she had to use a commercial kitchen in support of her restaurant and catering business. With only two employees there was insufficient time and staff to maintain the business, including updating the catering menu of which was critical to sustaining the business during slow times of the year.
When she had a baby, she hired additional help which increased her costs. Thanks to Microgrants, Goodrum was able to recover from surgery, pay her additional staff, update her catering menu and add a hood to her kitchen. As her business continues to grow, she credits Microgrants with providing vital support at a critical time.
