A tornado hit north Minneapolis in May and struck Bassem Kablaoui’s Lowry Market. Insurance paid for roof and window repairs, but five days without electricity made his refrigerated goods unsaleable — so he gave everything away to people who needed food. He used the MicroGrant to restock his merchandise.
