2016 Grantees of the Year Awards

The 4th Annual Outstanding Grantees of the Year Awards took place at St Olaf Church in downtown Minneapolis on September 21st. Honoring our grantees and sharing their success stories with friends, families and community is one of the highlights of our work here at MicroGrants.

Don Samuels, our CEO opened with a warm welcome, introduced Senator Amy Klobuchar who attended our event via video, after which Tricia Haynes sang her parody, MicroGrants, One of My Favorite Things. A rousing round of applause brought WCCO’s Angela Davis to the stage to acknowledge and honor the Grantees of the Year who shared their uplifting success stories of how the well-timed grant made the difference in creating work, keeping work, getting work or getting to work! T Mychael Rambo sang a stirring version of “If You Believe” from the musical, The Wiz and wrapped up the evening with “No One Gonna Turn Me Around”.

Thank you once again to our donors, grantees, partner agencies, staff, board, council and volunteers who make our mission a reality, and all who attended or helped out at the award celebration making it a delightful evening for all.
